Bottle Auction Rules and Bidding Methods

3. Here's how proxy bidding on bottleauction.com When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you'd be willing to pay for the item. Your maximum (proxy bid) amount is always kept confidential from other bidders and the general public. The automatic bidding system compares your bid to those of the other bidders. The system places bids on your behalf, using only as much of your bid as is necessary to maintain your high bid position (using the next increment factor, you will out bid the next lowest bidder by the next increment). The system will automatically bid for you up to your maximum amount. Only the current high bid on any lot will be disclosed by the auctioneer, not the top proxy bid. In the event of tied bids, the earliest received bid will be adjudged the high bidder.

4. All auctions have an activity feature. This means a bid comes in less than closing prior to closing time, the bids will extend that lot closing time for an additional 5 minutes, plus the remainder of that minute fraction. There is no limit as to how many 5-minute extensions may occur. When no bidding occurs for 5 minutes prior to the printed or extended closing time, the lot will then hammer to the highest bidder.

5. California State sales tax may be added to your invoice if  the item is being shipped to a destination in Calif. Dealers w/resale  # are exempt.

6. All lots are guaranteed authentic and to be accurately described as to condition. Any purchase may be returned within ten (10) days if inaccurately described. All returned lots must be insured for the sale value against damage or loss and be returned to us in the same condition as when shipped. Any and all disputes must be made within 10 days of the buyer receiving the lot. After that 10 day period  all sales will be considered final. Buyers remorse is no a valid reason for return. Accurately described lots are not returnable. Bottleauction.com makes every effort to accurately describe each item listed; all items are guaranteed to be as described. Any condition such as manufacturers flaws that in our opinion does not detract from the item monetarily value will not be viewed as a justifiable reason for return. returns must be recieved no more than 30 days  after the auctions end. Any lot returned after the 30 days after auction closing date not be accepted as there is a 30-day return policy strictly enforced. All credit or returns will be less shipping charges.

7. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice and due 14 days thereafter. Lots will be shipped only after payment is made in full. Bidder forfeits all claims on lots left unpaid after the  net 14 day period.  

8. Bottleauction.com reserves the right to withdraw any lot for any reason at any time prior or during the auction. We are not responsible for any typographical errors either in the on-line catalogue or in the printed catalogue. In the event of a system failure or loss of Internet connection, Bottleauction.com reserves the right to postpone the closing time and date of any unsold lots or in some rare instances close out the auction and re-list the item in the next auction round. We will make every effort to execute absentee bids at the bidders request faithfully and to the best of our ability, but we assume no responsibility for errors, deletions or omissions.
